The Lakeside Village Centre will be a thriving hub for locals to enjoy, whether it’s a quick trip to the shop for milk, dropping off children at daycare or sitting outside at the north-facing café for a coffee in the sun.
The Village Centre was designed by Walker Architecture, focusing on maximising light and complementing the natural surrounds. The thoughtful walking/cycling connections ensure quick and easy access to all areas of Lakeside.
The café/restaurant will have indoor/outdoor dining spaces, looking out over Lake Waikare. There will also be a general store to provide convenience for the growing community, a childcare and a village centre playground.
In addition, there will be a two-storey office and retail building with 8 units ranging from 60sqm – 97 sqm. We expect a wide range of businesses and services within this space and are looking forward to updating you once operators are confirmed. Further land has been set aside to expand the Village Centre as the Lakeside community grows.
As you can see civil and drainage works are well underway on site. Building consent has been obtained for the café/restaurant and general store and consent for all other buildings is expected imminently. The first stage of the Village Centre is expected to be complete late 2022.
