The Lakeside neighbourhood is a masterplanned and multistage development that spans over a number of years. While the homes in Stage 1 were under construction, civil works progressed across future Stages 2 and 3.
Stage 2 comprises a total 295 lots spread across sub-stage 2A (142 Lots) and sub-stage 2B (153 Lots). Civil works in Stage 2A have progressed well over the winter months, with all utilities now in the ground and roading works well underway. We anticipate Stage 2A construction will be complete in Q4 2021 while Stage 2B works will carry into 2022.
Stage 3 earthworks have received EPA approval from the Waikato District Council and earthworks will commence in late 2021. Stage 3 will see a further 435 residential lots delivered with associated infrastructure and amenity including a landscaped wetland and pedestrian and cycling linkages.
The Rimu Street extension is also nearing completion. This is a secondary connection between Lakeside and the Te Kauwhata township. Construction is progressing well, and this road, upon completion, will provide a generous 3m wide shared path alongside the new road to ensure pedestrians and cyclists, along with vehicles, have safe access into town.
All drainage works are now complete and the road sub-base is now laid. The Rimu Street connection is expected to be operational by December 2021.
