The progress at Lakeside this year has continued at full steam; we have over 100 homes completed, we finished the greenlink walkway connecting the soon to be Lakeside Village to the rest of the Lakeside community, civil works continued on Stage 2, and the Rimu Street connection is nearing completion providing easy access to Te Kauwahata town.
As communicated last year, we have partnered with Kāinga Ora to deliver the remaining stages of Lakeside. Kāinga Ora is now accepting submissions from build partners for a total of 224 lots ranging from 225 sqm to 699 sqm. Those build partners will then design home and land packages to sell to the market. Submissions close 14 October 2021 for prospective build partners and the first home and land packages will be released to market in Q1 2022.
Winton is delighted to move into the next phase of Lakeside’s journey. We can’t wait to see the construction start on these new homes, which Kāinga Ora expects to be a mix of 3-4+ bedrooms and all with a minimum 6 Homestar rating.
Within Kāinga Ora’s 224 lot release, 20% of dwellings will be delivered as affordable homes in its Colab Series homes, capping Colab 3 bedroom homes at $650,000.
Lakeside is a multi-year project that will see over 1,600 new homes delivered over the next 5+ years. The next year will be an exciting year with the start of construction of the above homes, the completion of the Lakeside Village café and retail space, and kick-off of the wetland construction.
