Upgrade to the main road into Lakeside to be completed this month

This year significant work has been completed to upgrade Scott Road, the main access road into Lakeside, to make this an attractive urban road. In August, the show suites were closed for a few weeks to enable the last substantial works to be completed on the road. The show suites are open again, and the upgrade of Scott Road is almost complete, including a 3-metre-wide footpath and cycle trail into town. The final tree and shrub planting, including beautiful Liquid Ambers along Scott Road, will be completed in October.

There has also been considerable work done on the first roads within the development. They were sealed last week, along with the roundabout at the entrance to Lakeside. Progress on the other roads is well advanced with kerbing continuing throughout the development.

Part of the upgrade to Scott Road included incorporating essential infrastructure services along Scott Road. Therefore water, power, and ultrafast broadband have now made their way along Scott Road and will go live by the end of November.

Overall, the development is progressing well. Even with all of the rain that has occurred over the past three months, key milestones are still on track. The construction of the first 26 homes at Lakeside has begun, with the first of them to be completed before Christmas. 

Later this week, Lakeside will host its first community ‘walk the site event’ to enable locals to be the first to walk the entire Lakeside development site. For anyone interested in attending, they should contact one of the Lakeside Team listed below.

Show homes are open every Thursday from 5 pm – 6 pm and, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 1 pm – 3 pm at 98 Scott Road, Te Kauwhata.
