Winton welcomes partnership with Kāinga Ora at Lakeside Te Kauwhata
11/06/20Winton is pleased to enter into a partnership agreement with Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities, to complement the significant work that has already been completed at Lakeside and deliver more than 1300 homes over a 7-8-year period.
Winton Chief Executive Chris Meehan says, “Lakeside has already generated a significant amount of interest and sales, and the agreement with Kāinga Ora enables us to mutually deliver more quality homes for New Zealanders amid the beautiful waterfront landscape of Te Kauwhata.”
“This partnership is an opportunity to advance the Lakeside development at a faster pace, including the proposed school and community amenities, while incorporating the same high standards and approach to masterplanning that Kāinga Ora has delivered at Hobsonville Point, making Lakeside the Hobsonville Point of the south,” Meehan says. “We have worked successfully with Kāinga Ora at Hobsonville Point to develop a range of homes, and look forward to continuing this relationship to enhance the Lakeside community further.”
Winton has already completed 260 lots at Lakeside, and it is looking fantastic with the main entrance into the community complete, including substantial planting and a footpath/cycleway connecting Lakeside with the Te Kauwhata township. The first homes were recently finished, and titles issued for 98 lots in stage one. Winton will continue to progress the development, including the proposed school, community amenities like the café and childcare, cycleways, wetlands, and of course, ensure all homes constructed at Lakeside are approved in accordance with the high-quality Lakeside design and landscaping requirements.
